DECREE NO. 7,110, OF February 18 OF 2010.

Promulgate the Agreement between the Government of the Federative Republic of the Brazil and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador on Exemption from Vistos on Common Passports, firming in Brasilia, on July 24, 2007.

The PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution that confers it on art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and

Whereas the Government of the Federative Republic of the Brazil and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador celebrated, in Brasilia, on July 24, 2007, an Agreement on Exemption of Visits on Common Passports;

Whereas the National Congress passed this Agreement through the Legislative Decree no 586, of August 27, 2009;

Considering that the Agreement entered into international force on October 2, 2009, pursuant to the paragraph of its Article 10;

DECRETA:

Art. 1st The Agreement between the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Government of the Republic of El Salvador on Exemption from Visas in Common Passports, firmed in Brasília, on July 24, 2007, apensed by copy to the present Decree, will be executed and fulfilled as entirely as it contains.

Art. 2nd are subject to the approval of the National Congress any acts that may result in revision of the said Agreement, as well as any supplementary adjustments which, pursuant to art. 49, inciso I, of the Constitution, carries charges or gravy commitments to the national heritage.

Art. 3rd This Decree comes into effect on the date of its publication.

AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATIVE REPUBLIC OF BRAZIL

AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR ON EXEMPTION

OF VISAS IN COMMON PASSPORTS

The Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil

and

The Government of the Republic of El Salvador

(henceforth named?Parts?),

Wishing intensify the existing friendship relations between both countries;

Determined to simplify and promote the journeys of nationals from the territory of one Party to the territory of the other,

Wake up the following:

Article 1

Nationals of the Federative Republic of Brazil and Nationals of the Republic of El Salvador, holders of valid common passports, will be able to enter, transit and exit the territory of any of the Parties, without a visa requirement, for tourism and business purposes, thus understood activities that do not cove for remuneration in the receiving Country.

Article 2

The nationals referred to in the previous Article will be able to stay in the territory of the other Party, with no need for a visa, for the period of up to ninety (90) days, extended up to a total of one hundred and eighty (180) days per year, counted from the date of entry.

Article 3

Nationals mentioned in Article 1 of the Present Agreement will be able to enter, cross into transit and exit the territory of the other Party at all points open to international passenger traffic.

Article 4

The visa waiver introduced by this Agreement does not exime the nationals of both Parties to the obligation to comply with the laws and regulations on entry, stay and exit of foreigners in the territory of the receiving Party.

Article 5

The Parties reserve the right to deny the entry or reduce the stay on its territory of nationals of the other Party deemed undesirable.

Article 6

The competent authorities of both Parties will interchange, by diplomatic way, specimens of the travel documents mentioned in Article 1 of this Agreement, with detailed information on their characteristics and uses, thirty (30) days prior to the entry into force of this Agreement.

Article 7

Should there be modification of valid passports, the Parties will interchange, by diplomatic means, specimens of their new passports, with detailed information about their characteristics and uses, thirty (30) days before their entry into circulation.

Article 8

The competent authorities of both Parties inform each other, by diplomatic way, about any change in their respective laws and regulations on the regime of entry, stay and exit of foreigners from their respective territories.

Article 9

Each of the Parties will be able to suspend, total or partially, the application of this Agreement for reasons of national security, order or public health. The adoption of such a measure is to be notified to the other Party, by diplomatic way, as soon as possible.

Article 10

1.This Agreement shall enter into force thirty days after the date of the last notification by which the Parties communicate to each other the fulfillment of the internal legal requirements necessary for the entry into force of this Agreement.

2.This Agreement may be amended by mutual understanding between the Parties. The amendments shall enter into force pursuant to the preceding paragraph.

3.Any of the Parties may denounce this Agreement, by diplomatic means. In this hypothesis, the effects of the Agreement will cease ninety (90) days after receipt of the Notice of denunciation.

Made in Brasilia, on July 24, 2007, in two original exemplars, in the Portuguese and Spanish languages, being both texts being equally authentic.
