DECREE OF 1º OF AUGUST 2001.

Creates the Extractive Reserve of Low Juruá, in the Municipalities of Juruá and Uariní. State of the Amazonas, and gives other arrangements.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the assignment that confers it on art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and with a view to the provisions of the art. 18, of Law No. 9,985, of July 18, 2000, and in Decree No. 98,897, of January 30, 1990,

D E C R E T A:

Art. 1º It is created the Extrativist Reserve of Low Juruá, in the Municipalities of Juruá and Uariní, in the State of Amazonas, with the objectives of ensuring the sustainable use and conservation of renewable natural resources, protecting the means of living and the culture of the local extractivist population.

Art. 2º The Reserve Extractivist from Low Juruá covers an approximate area of one hundred and eighty seven thousand, nine hundred and eighty-two hectares and thirty-one centiars, with its delimitation based on the MIR? 111 Folha, published by the RADAMBRASIL Project and MIR? 112, by the Army's Geographic Service Directorate?DSG, with the following descriptive memorial: starts? if at Point 01, situated on the right bank of the Juruá River, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 58 '10 "WGR and 03º 12' 04" S; follows, by a reta of azimuth from 56º to 58 ' 21 " and a distance of 4,215.90 metres up to Point 02, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 56 '18 "WGR and 03º 10' 46" S, situated on the left bank of an igarapé without denomination; hence, it follows by the left margin of this igarapé, in the sense amount, up to the point 03, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 51 '35 "WGR and 03º to 15' 52" S; hence, it follows by a 131º 19 ' 30 " azimut straight and a distance of 3,883.01 metres, up to Point 04, located at the bedside of an igarapé without denomination; hence, it follows by the margin right of the said igarapé, in the downstream sense, up to Point 05, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 48 '39 "WGR and 03º 18' 36" S, located at the confluence with another non-denominational igarapé, affluent of the left bank of the Uariní River; hence, follows by the right margin of the said igarapé, in the downstream sense, up to Point 06, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 45 '48 "WGR and 03º 18' 32" S, located at the confluence of this igarapé with the Uariní River, also named regionally of River Copacá; hence, it follows by the left bank of the Uariní River, in the sense amount, up to Point 07, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 56 '07 "WGR and 03º to 54' 02" S, located at the confluence of a tax-free igarapé; hence, follows by the left margin of this igarapé, in the sense amount, up to Point 08, of approximate geographical coordinates from 65º to 58 '36 "WGR and 03º to 54' 21" S, located at the bedside of this, together the dividing line of the municipalities of Juruá and Uariní; hence, follows by a reta of azimut from 219º to 37 '10 "and distance of 4,276.79 meters up to Point 09, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 00' 01" WGR and 03º 56 ' 10 " S, located in an igarapé tributary of the Andwill River; hence, it follows by the right margin of this igarapé, in the downstream sense, up to Point 10, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 01 '37 "WGR and 03º 57' 39" S, located at the confluence with another igarapé with no denomination, tributary of the right bank of the Andwill River; of this point, follows by the right margin of this igarapé, in the downstream sense, up to Point 11, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 05 '23 "WGR and 03º 54' 43" S, located at its confluence with the Andwill River; hence, it follows by the right bank of the Andwill River, in the downstream sense, up to Point 12, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 06 '15 "WGR and 03º 44' 26" S, located at the confluence of the Andwill River with an igarapé without denomination; hence, it follows by the left margin of this igarapé, in the upstream sense, until o Point 13, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 08 '59 "WGR and 03º 44' 02" S; hence, it follows by a 350º 24 '51 "azimuth straight and distance of 5,829.81 meters, up to Point 14, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 09' 37" WGR and 03º 40 '56 "S, located on the right bank of the Juruá River; hence, it follows by the right bank of the Rio Juruá, in the downstream sense, up to Point 15, of approximate geographical coordinates of the 66º 04' 44" WGR and 03º 32 ' 34 " S, located on its right margin; hence, follows by a straight of the azimut from 58º to 09 '55 "and distance of 9,885.56 meters, up to Point 16, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 00' 15" WGR and 03º 29 '40 "S; hence, it follows by a 354º 57' 25" azimut reta and distance of 4,042.75 meters, up to Point 17, of approximate geographical coordinates of the 66º 00 '27 "WGR and 03º 27' 29" S, located on the headlines of an igarapé without denomination, affluent of the Juruá River; from this point, it follows by the right bank of this igarapé, in the downstream sense, until its confluence with the Rio Juruá, where is located Point 18, of approximate geographical coordinates from 66º to 01 '35 "WGR and 03º 28' 22" S; hence, it follows by the right bank of the Rio Juruá, in the downstream sense, up to Point 01, point starting from this descriptive, by perimating an approximate perimeter of two hundred and seventy nine thousand, six hundred and thirty-one meters and twenty-eight centimeters.

Art. 3º Caberá to the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources? IBAMA to administer the Low Juruá Extractive Reserve by adopting the necessary measures to its effective deployment and control, in the terms of the art. 4º of Decree No. 98,897 of January 30, 1990.

Art. 4º Ficam declared of social interest, for purposes of dispropriation by the IBAMA, the real estate constituted of land and benfeits existing in the limits described in the art. 2º of this Decree, in the terms of art. 2º, inciso VlI, of Law No. 4,132, of September 10, 1962.

Art. 5º This Decree comes into force on the date of its publication.
