Decree of April 28, 2000.

Creates the Organizing Commission of the Meeting of Presidents of South America, and gives other arrangements.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution that confers you the art. 84, inciso VI, of the Constitution,

decrees:

Art. 1º The Organizing Commission of the Meeting of Presidents of South America is set up, with the purpose of planning, coordinating and executing the measures necessary for the realization of that meeting, to be held on August 31 and 1º September of 2000.

Art. 2º The Organizing Committee will consist of a Coordinator-General, a Coordinator of the Protocol, a Coordinator-Executive and an Assessor Committee.

§ 1º To the Coordinator-General will be responsible for thematic coordination and general supervision of the preparatory activities of the meeting.

§ 2º To the Coordinator of the Protocol shall be to plan and coordinate the protocolary arrangements necessary for the holding of the meeting.

§ 3º To the Executive Coordinator shall task the coordination and implementation of the administrative and logistical measures necessary for holding the meeting.

§ 4º The Assessor Committee will be competing to advise the Commission for the achievement of its goals.

Art. 3º The Assessor Committee will be composed of one representative of each of the following bodies:

I-Ministry of Defence ;

II-Department of Federal Police of the Ministry of Justice ;

III-Registry of the Federal Revenue Ministry of the Ministry of Finance.

Single Paragraph. You will be able to integrate the Assessor Committee a representative of the Government of the Federal District.

Art. 4º The members of the Assessor Committee, indicated by the holders of the bodies represented and by the Governor of the Federal District, as well as the Coordinators of the Organizing Commission, shall be appointed by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Art. 5º The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall provide the administrative support necessary for the operation of the Commission.

Art. 6º This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
