DECREE NO 8,486, DE July 8, 2015

Disposes on the execution of the Protocol of Accession of the Republic of Panama to the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of Trade by the Superaction of Technical Barriers To Trade (AR.BTC No 8), concluded between the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Ecuador, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and the Republic of Panama, on February 2, 2012.

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the exercise of the post of CHAIRMAN OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the assignment that confers you the art. 84, caput, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and Whereas the 1980 Treaty of Montevideo, which created the Latin American Integration Association-Aladi, signed by the Federative Republic of Brazil on August 12, 1980 and promulgated by the Decree # 87,054, of March 23, 1982, provides for the modality of Regional Agreement ;

Considering that Plenipotentiaries of the Federative Republic of Brazil, of the Argentine Republic, of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Ecuador, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela firmed on December 8 of 1997 in Montevideo, the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of Trade by the Superaction of Technical Barriers To Trade (AR.BTC No 8), having been incorporated into the Brazilian legal order by Decree No. 2,697 of July 30, 1998 ;

Consideration that on March 3, 1999, it was signed, in Montevideo, the Protocol of Accession of Eastern Republic of Uruguay to the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of Trade by the Superaction of Technical Barriers To Trade, having been incorporated into the Brazilian legal order by Decree No. 3,145 of August 17, 1999 ;

Consideration that on August 8, 2001, it was signed, in Montevideo, the Protocol of Accession of Republic of Cuba to the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of Trade by the Superaction of Technical Barriers To Trade, having been incorporated into the Brazilian legal order by Decree No. 4,100 of January 24, 2002 ; and

Considering that Plenipotentiaries of the Federative Republic of Brazil, of the Argentine Republic, of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Ecuador, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, of the Republic of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Panama, based on the 1980 Treaty of Montevideo, firmed on February 2, 2012 in Montevideo, the Protocol of Accession of the Republic of Panama to the Framework Agreement for Trade Promotion by the Superaction of Technical Barriers to Trade (AR.BTC No 8) ;

DECRETA:

Art. 1º The Protocol of Accession of the Republic of Panama to the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of Trade by the Superaction of Technical Barriers To Trade (AR.BTC No 8), between the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Plurinational State of the Bolivia, the Republic of Chile, the Republic of Colombia, the Republic of Cuba, the Republic of Ecuador, the United Mexican States, the Republic of Paraguay, the Republic of Peru, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and the Republic of Panama, February 2, 2012, annexed to this Decree, will be executed and fulfilled in full on its terms.

Art. 2º This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
