DECREE OF June 5, 2001

Institution the Sub Committee?Hydrographic Basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé, located in the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, and gives other providences.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution that confers you the art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and in view of the provisions of Law No. 9,433 of January 8, 1997, and in Law No. 9,984 of July 17, 2000,

DECRETA:

Art. 1º Is the Sub Committee institution instituted?River Basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé, collegiate body, with normative, deliberative and advisory assignments within the jurisdiction of their respective sub?hydrographic basins, linked with the National Board of Water Resources?CNRH, pursuant to the CNRH Resolution No 5 of April 10, 2000.

Single Paragraph. The acting area of the Sub Committee?River Basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé, tributaries of the Southern Paraíba River, located in the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, is defined by the geographical boundaries of the river basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé, of Union domain, bounded by the drainage areas with their exutory, location at scale of 1:1.000.000, at coordinates 42 ° 10'west longitude and 21 ° 38' South latitude, and in the coordinates 41 ° 21'west longitude and 21 ° 43' latitude south, respectively.

Art. 2º The Sub Committee?Hydrographic Basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé will be composed of representatives:

I? of the Union ;

II? of the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro ;

III? of the municipalities situated, in whole or in part, in these sub?basins ;

IV? of the users of the waters of their acting area ;

V? of civilian entities of water resources with proven acting in these sub-basins.

§ 1º The number of representatives, holders and alternates, of each sector mentioned in this article, as well as the criteria for their choice and indication, shall be set out in the Rules of Procedure of the Committee, limited to the representation of the Powers Union executives, states and Municipalities at half of the total members.

§ 2º The process of choosing the representatives of the Committee will be public, with broad and prior disclosure.

Art. 3º The functioning of the Sub Committee?River Basins of the Rios Pomba and Muriaé shall be governed by its Rules of Procedure, in accordance with the precepts contained in Law No. 9,433 of 1997, and in the CNRH Resolution, No 5, of 2000.

Single Paragraph. The Rules of Procedure of the Committee shall be approved by its members and published in the Official Journal of the Union.

Art. 4º The Committee meetings will be public, giving?if your convocation broad disclosure.

Art. 5º This Decree goes into effect on the date of its publication.
