DECREE NO 6,711, DE December 24, 2008.

Disposes on the display obligation of Brazilian cinematographic audiovisual works, and gives other providences.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution conferring you the art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and in view of the provisions of art. 55 of Provisional Measure no 2.228-1 of September 6, 2001,


Art. 1o The proprietary, locator or rental companies of rooms or commercial public display complexes are required to exhibit, in the year 2009, Brazilian film works of long metre, within the framework of their programming, observed the minimum number of days and the diversity of the titles fixed in table constant of the Attachment to this Decree.

Single Paragraph. The obligation to treat the caput covers rooms, twinned or not, belonging to the same exhibition company and which integrate commercial public display spaces or places located in a same complex, as defined by normative instruction exclaimed by the National Cinema Agency-ANCINE.

Art. 2the The requirements and conditions of validity for the fulfillment of the obligation that it treats this Decree, as well as its form of voucher, will be disciplined in normative instruction established by ANCINE.

Art. 3o The ANCINE, aiming to promote self-sustaining industry national film and the increase in production as well as the distribution and exhibition of the Brazilian cinematographic works, will regulate the activities of fostering and protecting the national film industry, and may displace over the period of permanence of Brazilian titles on display in each complex depending on the results obtained.

Art. 4o This Decree goes into effect on the date of its publication.
