DECREE OF August 20, 2002

Renova the concession and authorization of the entities it mentions, to explore broadcasting services, and gives other arrangements.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL TRIBUNAL TRIBUNAL, in the exercise of the post of CHAIRMAN OF THE REPUBLIC, using the assignments that confer upon him the arts. 84, inciso IV, and 223, caput, of the Constitution, 33, § 3, of Law No 4,117 of August 27, 1962, and 6º of Law No 5,785 of June 23, 1972 and in view of the provisions of the art. 6, inciso I, of Decree No 88,066 of January 26, 1983,

DECRETA:

Art. 1º The outorgas of the entities listed below to explore, without the right of exclusivity, for the ten-year period, the following sound broadcasting services:

a) concession, on average wave:

I? MANGUABA RADIO OF THE PILAR LTDA., as of November 21, 1998, in the town of Pilar, State of Alagoas, outored by Decree No 96,793 of September 27, 1988 (Case No. 53103.000137/00) ;

II? CARIBBEAN CULTURAL ENDEAVORS LTDA., as of January 18, 1999, in the city of Lord of the Bonfim, State of Bahia, outored by Decree No 82,815 of December 6, 1978 and renewed by Decree No 96,884 of September 30, 1988 (Process No. 53640.001193/98) ;

III? II? MUNICIPAL PREFECTURE OF TAQUARI, through the Journalistic and Açorian Broadcasting Company? EJORA, starting from 1º September 1998, in the city of Taquari, State of Rio Grande do Sul, authorized by Portaria No. 180 of July 11, 1988, having passed the location condition for regional by virtue of increased power of its station transmitting, as Expression of Motives No. 135 of September 12, 1989, of the Ministry of Communications (Process No. 53790.000697/98).

Art. 2º The operation of the broadcasting service, whose concessions and authorizations are renewed by this Decree, shall be governed by the Brazilian Code of Telecommunications, subsequent laws and their regulations.

Art. 3º The renewal of the grants and authorizations will only produce legal effects after deliberation of the National Congress, pursuant to § 3º of the art. 223 of the Constitution

Art. 4º This Decree goes into effect on the date of its publication.
