DECREE NO. 6,498, DE 1º OF JULY OF 2008.

Disposes on the execution of the Ata de Rectification, of December 28, 2007, of the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 58, between the Governments of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, States Parties to the MERCOSUR, and the Government of the Republic of Peru.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution conferring you the art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution, and

Considering that the 1980 Treaty of Montevideo, which created the Latin American Association of Integration (ALADI), signed by Brazil on August 12, 1980 and approved by the National Congress, by means of Legislative Decree No. 66 of November 16, 1981, provides for the modality of Economic Supplementation Agreement ;

Whereas the Governments of the Argentine Republic, the Federative Republic of Brazil, of the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, States Parties to the MERCOSUR, and the Government of the Republic of Peru, on the basis of the Treaty of Montevideo of 1980, signed, on November 30, 2005, the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 58, incorporated into the Brazilian domestic law by Decree No. 5,651 of December 29, 2005 ;

Considering that the General Secretariat of ALADI, in the use of the colleges that confers it on Resolution 30, of August 17, 1983, of the Association's Representatives Committee, washed, on December 28, 2007, Rectification Act of the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 58 ;

DECRETA:

Art. 1º The Rectification Act, of December 28, 2007, of the Supplementation Agreement Economic paragraph 58, between the Governments of the Argentine Republic, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, States Parties of the MERCOSUR, and the Government of the Republic of Peru, apensa by copy to the present Decree, will be executed and fulfilled as entirely as it contains.

Art. 2º This Decree goes into effect on the date of its publication.

ATA OF RETIFICATION OF ERRORS IDENTIFIED IN THE LANGUAGE VERSION PORTUGUESE OF THE ECONOMIC SUPPLEMENTATION AGREEMENT # 58, INCLUDED IN THE MINUTES OF RECTIFICATION,

March 5, 2007

In the city of Montevideo, at twenty eight days of the month of December two thousand and seven, the General Secretariat of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), in use of the faculties conferring it on Resolution 30 of the Committee of Representatives, as the depositary of the Agreements and Protocols signed by the Governments of the member states of ALADI, and in accordance with the established in their Article Third, do note:

First.-That the Permanent Representation of Brazil together with ALADI and MERCOSUR, by Note No. 148 of August 21, 2007, requested the elaboration of Rectification Act in separate form, for versions in Portuguese and in Spanish, when the observations are identified in both languages of the Agreement or Protocol, in order to facilitate their publication in the Official Journal of the Union, since, under Brazilian Internal Law, it does not correspond to publishing the rectification of texts in foreign language.

Second.-That the Permanent Representation of Brazil together with ALADI and MERCOSUR, in that same Note No. 148, requested the Secretarial-General the elaboration of a new Rectification Act, containing only the errors identified in the Portuguese language version of the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 58, included in the Rectification Act of March 5, 2007, targeting contemplate what appears in Article First.

Third.-That complying with the requested, are detailed below the errors identified in the Portuguese language version of the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 58:

Fourth.-That this new Rectification Act, containing only the errors identified in the Portuguese language version of the Agreement of Economic Supplementation Paragraph 58, included in the Rectification Act of March 5, 2007, was brought to the notice of the Argentine Representation together with MERCOSUR and ALADI, from the Permanent Representation of Paraguay to the ALADI and to MERCOSUR, of the Permanent Representation of Peru together with ALADI and MERCOSUR and the Permanent Representation of Uruguay together with ALADI and MERCOSUR, per note ALADI/SUB-JRB-553/07 of December 18, 2007, fixing the General Secretariat a ten-day time limit to make the remarks.

Fifth.-That completed the deadline and no comments from the signatory countries have been received, this General Secretariat has washed a new Minutes of rectification in the terms requested by the Permanent Delegation of Brazil together with ALADI and MERCOSUR.

And, for the record, this General Secretariat launder the present Rectification Act in place and date indicated, in an original in the Portuguese and Spanish languages, both of which are equally valid texts.
