DECREE OF December 3, 2003.

Institution the Sub-Basin Committee of the Green River Large, located in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia, and gives other arrangements.

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the exercise of the office of President of the Republic, using the attribution that confers him on art. 84, inciso VI, paragraph "a", of the Constitution, and in view of the provisions of the Laws 9,433, of January 8, 1997, and 9,984, of July 17, 2000,

DECRETA:

Art. 1º It is hereby instituted the Sub-Basin Committee of the Green Green River, collegiate body, with normative, deliberative and advisory assignments within the jurisdiction of the Green Greater sub-basin, linked to the National Board of Resources Water.

Single Paragraph. The acting area of the Sub-Basin Committee of the Green River Large, tributary of the San Francisco River, located in the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia, both rivers of Union dominance, is defined by the geographical boundaries of the sub-basin Green Green River Hydrographic, and delimited by the drainage area with located exutory, at scale 1:1.000.000, at coordinates 43º 53'Longitude West and 14º 35' South Latitude.

Art. 2º The Sub-Basin Committee of the Green River Large will consist of representatives:

I-of the Union ;

II-of the states of Minas Gerais and Bahia ;

III-of the Municipalities situated, in whole or in part, in their area of acting ;

IV-of the users of the waters of their acting area ; and

V-from civilian water resources entities with proven acting in the basin.

§ 1º The number of representatives, holders and alternates, of each sector mentioned in this article, as well as the criteria for their choice and indication, will be set out in the Committee's internal regiment.

§ 2º The selection process of the Committee members will be public, with broad and prior disclosure.

Art. 3º The operation of the Committee of the Hydrographic Basin of the Green River Large will be defined by its internal regiment, in accordance with the precepts of Law No. 9,433 of January 8, 1997.

Single Paragraph. The internal regiment of the Committee shall be approved by its members and published in the Official Journal of the Union.

Art. 4º The meetings of the Committee will be public, being its widely publicized convocation.

Art. 5º This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
