I know that the National Congress approved, and I, José Sarney, President of the Senate, pursuant to art. 48, item XXVIII, of the Bylaws, promulgate the following
LEGISLATIVE DECREE No. 204, 2004 (*)
Approves the text of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, adopted in that city on 22 May 2001.
The National Congress decrees:
Art. 1 It approved the text of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, adopted in that city on 22 May 2001.
§ 1 Brazil may only make imports provided for in art. 3, § 2, paragraph (a) i, if it was the producer country or exporting the substance to be imported, getting other prohibited imports based on this device.
§ 2. They are subject to the approval of the National Congress any acts that may result in revision of the Convention and any further adjustments pursuant to art. 49, I, of the Constitution, result in charges or commitments to the national heritage.
Art. 2 This Legislative Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
