CONSTITUTIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE REPAsBLICA

BY HOW much, the H. National Congress has sanctioned the following law:

THE NATIONAL CONGRESS,

DECCRETA:

ArtA-culo 1A °.†" To the realization of public works in the Department of Santa Cruz, it is created as cumulative funds, the following returns:

a) Allocation of the sum of ONE MILLION BOLIVIANS (Bs. 1,000,000,†") For five years, beginning in 1941, according to the program of undertaking, detailed in this law.

b) The tax of five cents per hectare of land granted by the State, within the Department of Santa Cruz, According to the Supreme Decree of 5 October 1939, which rises to the rank of law.

c) A tax of a Bolivian percent on the sale of construction woods that are used in the city of Santa Cruz.

d) An additional tax 10 cents on each liter of alcohol produced in the Department of Santa Cruz.

e) A Five cents on each liter of spirits produced in the Department of Santa Cruz.

f) An additional ad valorem tax, of 2 percent calculated on car and truck parts that are expended by the agencies and commercial houses of the city of Santa Cruz.

g) An additional tax of fifty cents for every 46 kilos of lime that is interne for the consumption of the city of Santa Cruz.

h) The yield of the tax on water Santa Cruz City Potables.

i) An additional tax on tobacco, cigars and Cigarettes that are consumed in the Department of Santa Cruz, on the following scale:

Five Bolivians for every 100 grams of imported tobacco sold in the Department.

Fifty cents for each pack of cigarettes foreigners to be sold in the Department.

Ten cents for every national cigarette pack sold in the same department.

Cigars in leaf, foreigners, will have a 30 percent surcharge on current taxes and domestic cigars. a 10 percent surcharge on current taxes.

j) One per thousand on the value of the urban properties and the average per thousand on the value of the properties of the properties.

Article 2A °.†" The funds from the yields listed above, which are collected by the offices Tax and municipal, respectively, as for the private companies that are responsible for the development of the taxed activities, deposit them under their responsibility in the Central Bank of Bolivia, agency of the city of Santa Cross, in special account, to the order of the Departmental Treasury.

ArtA-ass 3A °.â€" After a year of accumulation of the funds related to the first article of this law, the Executive Branch is empowered to hire one or more of the funds in any of the national banks or "institutions of commercial trade of the Republic, up to the sum of THIRTY MILLION BOLIVIANS, with an interest not greater than 4 percent per year.

ArtA-ass 4A °.â€" The total amount of such activities will be allocated to works Public in the Department of Santa Cruz and in the first term to the water collection Potables, sewerage, paving and light service and electrical power in the city of Santa Cruz, assigning the sum of FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND BOLIVIANS for public works in each of the provinces of the same department, which will be studied and determined by the Comité de Obras PAºblicas de Santa Cruz.
