CONSTITUTIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE REPAsBLICA

FOR HOW much: The Honorable National Congress has sanctioned the following Law:

Congress National,

DECCRETA:

ArtA-arse 1A °â€" Crate the Bolivian Institute of the Cedeg, whose purposes will be:

a) Study and solve all individual or collective problems, emerging

Adult blind persons, whether national or foreign resident in the country.

b) To exercise the guidance on all the institutions of blind existing in the paA-s;

c) To investigate and to realize the methods of the tiflologA-to modern to put them in the service of the social assistance, rehabilitation and aid to the blind and their family;

d) Organization of the Centers for Readaptation and Professional Training of the Blind, AsA-as of literacy courses for the blind peasants;

e) Promote and orient the occupational activity of the rehabilitated blind;

f) Dictate rules for the protection of blind people whose Additional conditions to their blindness do not allow them to perform productive activities by their own means;

g) Investigate the causes that directly or indirectly cause blindness in the

individuals;

h) Organize Censuses and Statistics relative to the Ceguera.

ArtA-culo 2A °â€ " For the purposes of this law and for the individuals included in it, to accept its benefits, the Bolivian Institute of the Ceguera adopt the following definition: "It is blind that individual whose visual acuity is 20/200 or less or his visual field is 20 degrees or less, in the best eye and with the best correction."

ArtA-Aculo 3A °â€ " The Bolivian Institute of Cededness will depend on the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and will be governed by:

a) A National Council of the Cedeel composed of the Director General of Social Security, a Representative of the Ministry of Hygiene and Health, another of the Ministry of Education, another of the National Social Security Fund, two representatives of the National Federation of the Blind, a representative of the National Department of Rehabilitation and another from the National School of Social Assistance.

b) By a Director Executive, appointed by the National Council of the Cejo.

ArtA-culo 4A °â€ "From the Bolivian Institute of the Cedeel will depend on all the institutions of the country, which deal with the blind.

ArtA-ass 5A °â€" The blindness does not

The blind that by their ability obtain liberal professions, and where the view is not essential for the exercise of them, can be exercised without any prohibition.

ArtA-culo 6A °â€ "From the proceeds of the National Council of Beneficence is allocated 20% to the National Institute of the Ceguera for social assistance purposes.

ArtA-culo 7A °â€" The State and private companies They will provide work to the blind according to their capacity and degree of rehabilitation.

ArtA-culo 8A °â€ " The Minister of Labour and Social Security will regulate the operation of the Bolivian Institute of the Ceguera and will make its budget available to the current income of the blind.

ArtA-arse 9A °â€ " The provisions contrary to this Law are hereby repealed.
