CONSTITUTIONAL PRESIDENT OF THE PLURINATIONAL STATE OF BOLIVIA
For the Plurinational Legislative Assembly, has sanctioned the following Act:
THE PLURINATIONAL LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY,
DECRETA:
? NATIONAL DAY OF THE PEOPLE AND THE AFRO-OLIVIANA CULTURE?
Article 1.
I. Declare 23 September? National People's Day and Afro-oliviana Culture, in order to reaffirm the
identity and value the culture of those in Bolivia who are descendants of Africans.
II. During the? National People's Day and Afro-oliviana Culture?, cultural days of various kinds will be held,
to make known the richness of the culture of African ancestry and its contributions to the development of society and the culture of the State Plurinational of Bolivia.
Article 2. The Ministry of Cultures, within the framework of its competencies, should prioritize and execute the tasks
specific to study, research and promote the culture of the Afro-oliviano People, as well as the recovery of the ancestral knowledge, historical facts and landmarks.
Article 3. The Ministry of Development Planning and the National Statistics Institute? INE, will develop
the policies needed to include the Afro-oliviana self-identification variable, in the census ballot and the periodic surveys, to implement and protect the rights of the Afro-oliviano people.
Remitase al Executive organ, for constitutional purposes.
It is given in the Session Room of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly, at seventeen days of the month of
November of the year two thousand eleven.
