To all, present and to come, Hi.
The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
Art. 2. Article 1er of the Act of 10 March 1980 on the granting of the honorary title of their functions to the mayors, the chevines and the presidents of the councils of the public welfare centres or the former public assistance commissions, as amended by the Act of 10 February 2000, is supplemented by the following paragraph:
"The exercise of a mandate in a municipality that, thereafter, is merged with or annexed to other communes is assimilated to the exercise of a mandate in the commune comprising the merged or annexed communes. »
Art. 3. An article 5bis, as follows, is inserted in the same law:
"Art. 5bis. May be authorized by the municipal council or the council of social assistance to carry the honorary title of its functions, the outgoing municipal councilor or the member of the outgoing social assistance council who has served for at least eighteen years in the same communal council or the same council of social assistance and whose conduct has been irreproachable.
With regard to communal councillors, it is taken into account, for the purpose of calculating this period, the period in which the communal elections were, either cancelled by the permanent charge in accordance with Article 75 of the communal electoral law of 4 August 1932 in the case that the Council of State reformed this decision, is suspended by the latter in accordance with the legal provisions applicable prior to the entry into force of the municipal law of the 17 July 1994 amending »
Art. 4. In article 6, first sentence, of the same law, the words "or the term of office of councillor or member of the council of social assistance" are inserted between the words "CPA" and the words "cannot".
Promulgation of this law, let us order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
