26 NOVEMBER 2002. - An Act to amend the Act of 28 October 1996 on the restitution of cultural property that has unlawfully left the territory of certain foreign States (1)

The Chambers adopted and We sanction the following:
Article 1
er. This Act regulates a matter referred to in Article 78 of the Constitution.
It implements the principles of Directive 2001/38/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2001 amending Council Directive 93/7/EEC on the restitution of cultural property that has illegally left the territory of a Member State.
Art. 2. In the annex to the Act of 28 October 1996 on the restitution of cultural property that has illegally left the territory of certain foreign States, as amended by the Act of 15 December 1997, section B is amended as follows:
1° the words "B. Financial thresholds applicable to certain categories referred to in point A (in euro) Value: 0 (zero)" are replaced by the words "B. Financial thresholds applicable to certain categories referred to in point A (in euro) Value: whatever the value";
2° Paragraph 3 is repealed.
Art. 3. This Act produces its effects on 1
er January 2002.
Promulgate this law, order that it be clothed with the seal of the State and published by the Belgian Monitor.
