74. Federal Law, which changes the University Act 2002

The National Council has decided:

The University Act 2002, BGBl. I n ° 120, as last amended by the Federal Law BGBl. I No 77/2005, shall be amended as follows:

1. In the table of contents are § 54. " § 54. Bachelor's, Master's, Diploma and Doctoral Studies " , the 5. Section "Bachelor theses, diploma and master theses as well as dissertations" , § 80 " § 80. Bachelor thesis " § 81. " § 81. Diploma and Master's theses " § 83. " § 83. Artistic Diploma and Master's Work " and § 85. § 85. Recognition of diploma and master theses as well as artistic diploma and master theses " .

2. In § 51 para. 2 Z 2, 4 and 5 the words shall be "Bakkalaureate Studies" by the words "Bachelor studies" and the words "Magister Studies" by the words "Master Studies" replaced.

3. In Section 51 (2) (6), the word shall be: "Bakkalaureatsstudium" by the word "Bachelor ' s degree" replaced.

4. In § 51 para. 2 Z 7 the word "BakkalaureatsWork" by the word "Bachelor thesis" and the word "Bakkalaureatsstudium" by the word "Bachelor ' s degree" replaced.

5. In Section 51 (2) (8), the word shall be: "Magister Work" by the word "Master Work" and the word "Magister Studies" by the word "Master Studies" replaced.

6. In § 51 para. 2 Z 9, the word "Magister Work" by the word "Master Work" replaced.

7. § 51 para. 2 Z 10 reads:

" 10.

Bachelor's degrees are the academic degrees awarded after the completion of the bachelor's studies. They are "Bachelor ...", abbreviated "B...", with an addition to be determined in the curriculum. "

8. § 51 para. 2 Z 11 reads:

" 11.

Masters degrees are the academic degrees awarded after the completion of the Master's studies. They are: "Master ..." with an addition to be defined in the curriculum, whereby an abbreviation is also to be defined, or Diplom-Ingenieurin/Diplom-Ingenieur, abbreviated "Dipl.-Ing." or "DI". "

9. In Section 51 (2) (12), the word shall be: "Magister Studies" by the word "Master Studies" replaced.

10. In § 51 para. 2 Z 13, the word "Magister Work" by the word "Master Work" replaced. In Section 51 (2) (14), the point at the end is replaced by a dash and the following phrase is inserted:

"or" Doctor of Philosophy ", abbreviated" PhD "."

11. In § 51 para. 2 Z 21 the word "Bakkalaureats-" by the word "Bachelor" replaced.

12. In the first sentence of § 51 paragraph 2 Z 26, after the word "Studies" the phrase "with the exception of doctoral studies" inserted. Section 51 (2) of the Z 23 is replaced by the following:

Master's degrees in university courses are those internationally accepted masters degrees, which are defined for graduates of those university courses, their access conditions, scope and requirements with access conditions, The scope and requirements of corresponding foreign training opportunities are comparable. 13. The heading to § 54 reads:

"Bachelor, Master, Diploma and Doctoral Studies"

14. § 54 (1) and (4) are:

" (1) The universities are entitled to establish diploma, bachelor, master and doctoral studies. The studies are to be assigned to one of the following groups:

1.

Studies in the humanities and cultural studies;

2.

Engineering studies;

3.

Artistic studies;

4.

veterinary studies;

5.

Scientific studies;

6.

Legal studies;

7.

Social and economic studies;

8.

Theological studies;

9.

Medical studies;

10.

Teaching studies.

(4) The duration of doctoral studies shall be at least three years. The course may be referred to as "Doctor of Philosophy" doctoral studies and the academic degree "Doctor of Philosophy", abbreviated "PhD", will be awarded. "

15. In § 54, para. 2, first sentence, the word order shall be "Bakkalaureats-and Magister Studies" through the phrase "Bachelor and Master Studies" replaced.

16. In Section 54 (3), the word "Bakkalaureate Studies" by the word "Bachelor studies" and the word "Magister Studies" by the word "Master Studies" replaced.

17. In Section 55 (1), the phrase "Bakkalaureats-or Magister Studies" through the phrase "Bachelor or Master Studies" and the phrase "Bakkalaureats-oder Magisterstudium" through the phrase "Bachelor's or Master's Degree" replaced.

Section 55 (4) reads as follows:

"(4) Graduates of individual Bachelor's studies are the academic degree" Bachelor ", abbreviated as" BA ", from the institution responsible for the matters of study law at that university, where the main focus of the studies is located. Graduates of individual diploma studies are the academic degree "Magistra" or "Magistra". 20. § 59 (1) Z 5 reads:

26. In § 67 (2) the word "Magister-" by the word "Master" replaced.

27. In § 72, the words "Magister Work" by the words "Master Work" replaced.

28. In Section 73 (1), the word shall be: "Magister Work" by the word "Master Work" replaced.

29. In § 74 (2) and (4), in Section 75 (1), (2) and (3), the word shall be "Magister-" by the word "Master" replaced.

35. The title of § 83 reads:

36. In § 83 (1) and (2), the words "Magister Work" by the words "Master's thesis" ; in Section 83 (2) and (3) the words shall be replaced by "Magister Work" by the words "Master Work" replaced.

37. The title of § 85 reads:

"Recognition of diploma and master's theses as well as artistic diploma and master's theses"

38. § 85 reads:

" § 85. Diploma or Master's theses or artistic diploma or master's theses, which have been positively assessed at a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution, are from the for the matters of study law competent authorities, if they meet the requirements of a diploma or master's thesis or artistic diploma or master's thesis. "

39. In § 86, the words "Magister Work" by the words "Master's thesis" replaced.

40. In § 87 (1) the word "Magister-" by the word "Master" and the words "Magister Work" by the words "Master's thesis" replaced.

41. The following paragraphs 10 to 15 are added in § 124:

" (10) Previous post-kalaureate studies and master studies are considered to be Bachelor studies and Master's studies in accordance with § 51 paragraph 2 Z 4 and 5, previous Bakkalaureatstheses and Magister theses are considered to be Bachelor theses and Master theses in accordance with § 51 paragraph 2 Z 7 to 8.

(11) Up to the amendment of the academic degrees on the basis of § 51 paragraph 2 in the version of the Federal Law BGBl. I No 74/2006 in the relevant curricula are to be given the academic degrees to date.

(12) Graduates who are before the entry into force of the Federal Law BGBl. I n ° 74/2006 have begun to study, which are the academic degrees awarded at the time of the entry into force of the Federal Law BGBl. I No 74/2006 for this study programme. The academic degrees "Bachelor ...", or "Master ...", should be given in place of these degrees in lieu of these academic degrees, in each case with the addition defined in the curriculum, if these academic degrees are defined in the curricula.

(13) Graduates who are before the entry into force of the Federal Law BGBl. I n ° 74/2006, due to a completed Bachelor's or Master's degree, the right to lead an academic degree "Bakkalaurea/Bakkalaureus ...", or "Magistra/Magister ...", each with an addition, as well as "Diplom-Ingenieurin/Diplom-Ingenieur" (Diplom-Ingenieurin/Diplom-Ingenieur), have the right to conduct, instead of these academic degrees, the academic degrees "Bachelor ..." or "Master ...", in each case with the addition specified in the curriculum, if these academic degrees are defined in the curricula. Upon request, the university, which has awarded the academic degree, has to issue a confirmation of it.

(14) On requests for recognition of dissertations according to § 85, which are before the entry into force of § 85 in the version of the Federal Law BGBl. In the latest version of Regulation (EC) No 74/2006, Section 85 is to be applied in the version currently in force.

(15) Ordinary students who conduct doctoral studies, which have a workload of at least 120 ECTS credits prior to the entry into force of § 54 paragraph 4 in the version of the Federal Law BGBl. I No 74/2006 shall be entitled to conclude these studies in accordance with these provisions until 30 September 2017 at the latest. From the 2009/10 academic year onwards, admission to a doctoral programme whose minimum study period is less than three years must no longer be granted. "

42. § 124b (5) receives the sales designation "(6)" , in the second sentence of Section 124b (6), after the word "Approval" the phrase "and in the case of paragraph 5" inserted and § 124b para. 5 reads:

" (5) In order to deal with a serious disturbance of the homogeneity of the education system, the Federal Minister or the Federal Minister is entitled to lay down, by means of a regulation, those studies in accordance with paragraph 1 above, in which an increased influx of holders and Holders not issued in Austria are ripening certificates issued. 43. In § 143 (11) the word order is deleted " in the version of the Federal Law BGBl. I No 77/2005 " .
