483. Regulation of the Federal Minister of Health, which sets out the roles to be considered for electronic health data exchange and the minimum quality requirements for encryption and electronic signatures, Health telematics regulation 2012 (GTelV 2012)

On the basis of § 28 (1) of the Health Telematics Act 2012 (GTelG 2012), BGBl. I No 111/2012, shall be arranged:

§ 1. In the case of the electronic transmission of health data, health service providers shall only have the roles referred to in Appendix 1 to use.

§ 2. The in Appendix 2 In any case, these algorithms meet the requirements of § 6 GTelG 2012 (confidentiality).

§ 3. The Regulation shall enter into force 1. Jänner 2013 in force.

Appendix 2: Permitted Algorithms

1.

All procedures listed in the Annex of the Signature Ordinance 2008 (SigV 2008), BGBl. II No 3/2008, are permitted.

2.

The symmetrical methods are suitable, whereby an effective key length of at least 100 bits must be given:

Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) [FIPS197]

each in CBC or CTR mode [NIST 800-38A].
