Notification of the following Ramsar site in accordance with Article 2 (5) of the Convention on Wetlands, in particular as a habitat for water and wadding birds, of international importance 1

Ramsar-Area "Wilder Kaiser"

The Ramsar area "Wilder Kaiser" extends for the most part on a part of the existing nature reserve Kaisergebirge, LGBl. No. 21/1963.

It lies on the areas of the municipalities of Kufstein, St. Johann in Tirol, Ellmau, Going, Kirchdorf in Tirol and Scheffau and extends from a height of 480 m up to a height of 2344 m at the Ellmauer Halt.

Starting from the Walleralm in the northwest, the area east northeast stretches along the northern slope of the Zettenkaiserkopf and the Scheffauer in the direction of Talofen, from there east northeastwards the coarse valley querying to the high angle. From there east to the Griesner Alm and along the Kaiserbachtales to the Griesenau. From there, the delimitation to the south, under the gap of the Mittereralm through the Kreidegraben up to the Schusteralm. Continue towards the northwest to the chalk floor, from there towards the southeast to the Maukalm, west southwest to the Maukspitze towards the southeast to the Gamskögerl, direction west to the Gildensteig, follow this south to the Brennenden Palven, then westward. via the hut Gaudeamushütte to the Gruttenhütte, along the Gruttenweg via longitudinal gries, northwards to the Wegscheid Hochalm in the direction of Schneekar, then west southwest to the Kaiseralm, Kaiser Niederalm. From there direction north-west to the Steiner Hochalm, from there about 500 m south, where the delineation makes a bend to the west to the Hölzentalalm and from there back to the north back to the Walleralm. Close to Gaudeamushütte is the southeastern part of the Ramsar area, which is no longer part of the nature reserve of the Kaisergebirge. The delineation runs in the eastern direction to the Oberen Regalm, further to the Schleierfall, the thefts, Grandneralm to the Gescher head. From there to the north to the Altmoser Graben, further south to the Gscheuergraben, again to the north in the direction of Schusteralm, south to the Metzgeralm, to the east to the Bacheralm, to the Hautzenalm, from there to the south to the Gmailkapelle, further south to the Einsiedelei and from there to the north to the Schatterberg. Now the delimitation to the west goes along the ridge of the Lower Kaisers to the south-western foothill of the Gachererkopf, further south to the Grandner, the Rettenbach along north to 100m south of the Kote 811, from there to the south to the Wirtshaus Römerhof, west direction Hüttling and then north to Hüttlingberg. From there to the east to the Aschauer Bach, the Niedere Regalm and the Graspoint Niederalm to save the Scheiblberg to Tannbichlbach. The Bachtal, which extends from about 1 km to the south, is also part of the Ramsar area. Further, the area extends around the Grünberg to the west to the Hausbach stream and then back to the north to the Gaudeamushütte.

The authorization to submit this notification was signed by the Federal President on 18 March 2013 and countersigned by the Federal Chancellor; the above-mentioned area was added to the list of "wetlands of international importance" by 8 April 2013. is included.
