15. Federal Act, which changes the Federal Act on the University of Continuing Education Krems (DUK Act 2004)

The National Council has decided:

The DUK Act 2004, BGBl. I n ° 22/2004, shall be amended as follows:

1. In Section 4 (2) (5), the point shall be replaced by a line-point and the following Z 6 shall be added:

" 6.

Education and promotion of young researchers. "

2. § 5 (1) reads:

"(1) The study law provisions of the University Act 2002 apply with the proviso that at the University for further education Krems university courses and" Doctor of Philosophy "doctoral studies (" PhD " studies) according to § 5 (1a) to 1d are offered. "

(3) According to Article 5 (1), the following paragraphs 1a to 1d are inserted:

"(1a)" PhD " studies can be set up in order to build up and promote young researchers. The duration of these studies shall be at least three years.

(1b) After the positive completion of a "PhD" degree, graduates are awarded the academic degree "Doctor of Philosophy", abbreviated "PhD".

(1c) The establishment of a "PhD" study programme requires a course accreditation in accordance with § § 18 et seq. and 24 ff of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Act (HS-QSG), BGBl. I No 74/2011.

(1d) Eight years after the establishment of the "PhD" study, an evaluation has to take place with regard to § 4 paragraph 2 Z 6. "
