13. Regulation of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Labour, laying down training rules for the profession of travel agent/travel agent

On the basis of the § 8 of the Professional Law, BGBl. No 142/1969, last amended by the Federal Law BGBl. I No 79/2003, will be prescribed:

§ 1. The teaching profession travel agent/travel agent is established with a three-year teaching period.

Professional profile

§ 2. Through vocational training in teaching and vocational training, the trained teacher will be able to carry out the following activities in a professional, independent and self-responsible manner:

1.

offer, sell, organise, reserve and handle travel services and by-products of the travel agent and the service provider;

2.

advise customers on various destinations, means of transport and their tariffs, travel insurance, country-specific requirements and conditions, including in a foreign language;

3.

conduct customer and sales talks, conclude sales, taking into account legal requirements,

4.

carry the relevant correspondence, including in English,

6.

issue ticketing and travel documents, as well as relevant confirmations and invoices, complete forms and carry out payment work (also conversion of foreign currencies),

7.

participate in the planning and implementation of promotional measures and in the preparation of travel catalogues and prospectuses;

8.

carry out administrative work using operational information and communication systems;

9.

participate in the operational accounting and cost calculation;

10.

provide, await and evaluate statistics, files and maps.

Professional training

§ 3. (1) The following training course will be defined. § 4. This Regulation will enter into force on 1 January 2004.

Transitional provisions

§ 5. (1) The travel agent's training rules, BGBl. II No 317/1991, expires 31 December 1991 December 2003.

(2) Apprenticeships, In the teaching profession, travel agents can be trained in accordance with the training order referred to in paragraph 1.
