Law No 24,449. Amendment.
The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc.
Law:
Article 1-Substitute Article 61 of Law 24,449, which shall be worded as follows:
Article 61: Emergency vehicles. Emergency services vehicles may, exceptionally and in strict compliance with their specific mission, fail to respect the rules on movement, speed and parking, if this is absolutely essential for them. the occasion in question as long as they do not cause a greater evil than that which they attempt to resolve.
Only in such circumstances should they circulate, to warn their presence, with their distinctive emergency beacons in operation and adding the sound of a siren if their mission required extraordinary urgency.
Other users of the public road have an obligation to take all necessary measures within their scope to facilitate the advancement of such vehicles in such circumstances, and cannot follow them.
The siren should be used simultaneously with the distinctive beacons, with maximum restraint possible.
These vehicles shall have special clearance and shall not exceed 15 (15) years of age, except in the case of self-pumps, mobile fire bodies and vehicles affected by the armed and security forces whose vehicles may be exceed that period provided that they have the mandatory technical review granted by competent authority.
