Law of Promotion for the Taking of Consciousness on the Social Relevance of the Donation of Organs. Sanctioned: March 13, 2013 Enacted: April 17, 2013

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc., are sanctioned by law:

PROMOTION LAW FOR THE AWARENESS OF THE SOCIAL RELEVANCE OF ORGAN DONATION

ARTICLE 1-Object. This law aims to promote at all levels and modalities of the educational system proposals and actions for the awareness of the social relevance of the donation of organs and tissues for transplantation, on a voluntary basis, altruistic, selfless and supportive.

ARTICLE 2-Objectives. The following are the objectives of this law: 1. To promote the dissemination of information on the concepts, processes and impact of transplants through the members of the educational community. 2. To promote the participation of all the actors of educational institutions and their respective family environments in the generation of a culture of solidarity on the donation of organs and tissues for transplantation.

ARTICLE 3-Application Authority. The Ministry of Education, in agreement with the Federal Board of Education and in coordination with the Ministry of Health, will be the enforcement authority of this law.

ARTICLE 4 °-Advice. The National Central National Institute for Organ Ization and Implant Coordinator (Incucai) is an advisory body of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health for all the effects provided for in this law.

ARTICLE 5-Functions. In accordance with the provisions of Article 1 of this Law, the following are functions of the implementing authority: 1. Formulate and plan guidelines, proposals, strategies and actions aimed at promoting organ donation and tissue for transplants at all levels and formal educational modalities. 2. To promote the realization of annual days for teachers of all levels and modalities

education. 3. Arbitration the means to incorporate a systematized and interdisciplinary approach to the promotion of organ and tissue donation for transplantation in the educational areas of public and private management, after adaptation of the contents to the particularities of each level of education. 4. Designing mass actions from educational institutions to install positive messages and attitudes towards organ and tissue donation for transplantation. 5. To provide critical and responsible analysis by promoting educational work in conjunction with organizations related to the subject. 6. To promote actions that demand the analysis, debate and effective participation of the family group of students in the approach to the issue of organ and tissue donation for transplantation.

ARTICLE 6-Regulation. The Executive Branch shall regulate this law within the ninety (90) days of its promulgation.
