Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay. Creation. Sanctioned: December 10, 2014 Enacted: January 06, 2015

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc., are sanctioned by law:

ARTICLE 1 °-Creation and venue. Create the Universidad Nacional del Alto Uruguay (UNAU), with its headquarters in the city of San Vicente, province of Misiones, this being the seat of its central authorities. This university will be subject to the legal regime applicable to national universities.

ARTICLE 2 °-Academic offer. It will be the objective of the UNAU that the careers that constitute its academic offer do not overlap with those of other houses of high studies installed in the territory of the province, adapting the programs and the studies to a profile It is linked to the socio-economic and cultural characteristics of the district in particular and the region in general. The institutional project will provide for the development of teaching, research and university extension activities that meet the technological, scientific, economic and planning needs of agricultural and agro-industrial activities.

ARTICLE 3-Transfer of movable and immovable property. The national executive branch is empowered to manage and accept the executive branch of the province of Misiones and the Municipality of San Vicente, and also of official and private institutions located in the country or abroad, as well as the transfer of movable and immovable property which will integrate the assets of the UNAU.

ARTICLE 4 °-Designation of organizing rector. The Ministry of Education of the Nation will have the designation of the organizing rector that will have the privileges conferred by article 49 of Law 24,521 and that will last in his office until the authorities that establish the future are chosen The status of the National University of Upper Uruguay-UNAU.

ARTICLE 5-Financing. The expenses that the implementation of this law requires will be met with the specific departure of the credit for the national universities to be determined by the Ministry of Education, until the inclusion of the National University of Alto Uruguay -UNAU- in the law of budget and other resources that enter for any title.
