Declare of national interest the promotion, promotion, development of the production, marketing and research of stevia (Stevia Rebeaudiana Bertoni). Sanctioned: May 27, 2015 Enacted: June 15, 2015

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, meeting in Congress, etc., are sanctioned by law:

ARTICLE 1 °-State of national interest the promotion, promotion, development of the production, marketing and research of stevia (Stevia Rebeaudiana Bertoni).

Article 2 °-Crease in the field of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the National Program for the Study, Promotion and Development of the Stevia.

ARTICLE 3 °-The National Program for the Study, Promotion and Development of the Stevia will have objectives: (a) Promoting the characteristics and benefits of stevia; b) Assaying economic and technological issues to improve and diversify production at industrial and craft scale; c) Promoting the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises and cooperative entities in the development of productive enterprises through the use of stevia as a raw material; d) Keep the diversity, original genetics of the species Stevia Rebeaudia Bertoni in the cultivars that the program spreads; Generate greater added value in the production process of the stevia with appropriate technology; Ensure a quality control system; g) Include stevia products in national food plans; h) Spread and report at institutional level, to the general public and to national and international markets on progress and developments in the value chain of stevia which are being completed in the Republic of Argentina, by the various means of dissemination or through campaigns organised for the purpose; (i) Coordinate with the judicial authorities the rules and Phytosanitary and biosecurity recommendations that are required for the care and safety of persons, (j) Promoting strategic alliances with agro-food industries, foundations and others, as well as establishing cooperation agreements with national public and private entities; and (k) Develop strategies for national and international marketing for stevia producers;

(l) Establish cooperation agreements with national and international public and private entities.

ARTICLE 4 °-The National Program for the Study, Promotion and Development of the Stevia will have as direct responsibility of the administration to a director, assisted by five professional technical areas: a) Biotechnology; b) Agricultural technology; c) Industrialization and marketing; d) Training, training and dissemination; e) Conservation of biodiversity.

Article 5-The Bank of the Argentine Nation will provide credit lines for the stimulus, production, development, strengthening and marketing of stevia cultivation to producers who meet the requirements of the rules. banking. These credits shall be granted under the conditions and modalities of the most favourable line in force at the time of the granting of the credit assistance.

Article 6-The Executive Branch will have the budget items required for the financing of the National Program for the Study, Promotion and Development of the Stevia that will be added to the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. The program may also, by signing cooperation agreements, receive grants, subsidies and special funds from national and provincial institutions, whether public or private, or from international organizations.

ARTICLE 7 °-Invite the appropriate provinces for the production of stevia to dictate measures of promotion similar to those of this law.

ARTICLE 8 °-Commune to the national executive branch.
