Apply measures aimed at achieving and continuing observance of the National Law of Tango.

VISTO Law No. 24.684, "National Law of Tango", and

CONSIDERING:

That the aforementioned law was declared as an integral part of cultural heritage the music of tango, understanding all its artistic manifestations.

They were also declared to be of National Interest the activities that have for direct purpose the promotion and dissemination of tango.

That the same rule provides that the units of the National State, affected to the promotion and dissemination of culture and tourism, should include in such activities tango as one of the typical cultural expressions of the country.

That the high cultural objectives contemplated in the law deserve particular consideration in order to ensure the proper and effective implementation of the measures for their achievement and permanent observance.

That, on the other hand, the National Academy of Tango, created by Decree No. 1235 of 28 June 1990, is the natural advisory body, by virtue of its intense research on the subject.

That the present measure is in use of the powers conferred by article 99, paragraph 2, of the NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1- The SECRETARIAT OF CULTURA of the PRESIDENCIA DE LA NATION, once allocated the corresponding budget items, will have the realization of a relay of the movable and immovable properties that make up the material and cultural heritage of tango: collections, archives and specialized libraries, be these public or private.

Art. 2°- Any owner who decides to make a transaction in the country on collections of elements linked to Law No. 24,684, whose final destination is in foreign territory, shall communicate it to the SECRETARIAT OF CULTURE of the NATIONAL PRESIDENCE, which, for the purposes of possible conservation of such collections in the country, shall coordinate with the NATIONAL ACADEMY of TANGO the necessary requirements for this purpose.

Art. 3°- The Ministry of Culture And EDUCATION will have the measures to progressively incorporate the subjects of the arts and sciences of tango and related to the contents of the teaching at all levels, supporting, in the same sense, the action of private education and requiring the advice of the National Academy of Tango. Scholarships will also be awarded on these topics, and the edition of musical, literary or essay and research works will be encouraged. For their part, the cultural authorities will be able to acquire spaces in radio and television stations for educational purposes and for the dissemination of tango.

Art. 4°- INTERNATIONAL TRADE And CULTO shall take the necessary measures to ensure that the embassies accredited to other governments or to international organizations report regularly on activities related to the dissemination of tango in the respective fields, in order to organize and implement courses of action aimed at accelerating activity and dissemination in the international field, regarding the purposes of the Law which are regulated by the present Law. In this regard, support should be sought for the demonstrations, tours of artists, sets and Argentinean casts, and to facilitate the distribution of video discs, scores, books and magazines to the different media of each country.

Art. 5°- MINISTERIAS OF EXTERIORS, INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND CULTO and INTERIOR and other relevant units shall take appropriate measures to facilitate the performance of foreign artists or to arrive in the country for events organized by the National Government, Provincial Governments and Autonomous Government of the City of Buenos Aires.

Art. 6°- The National Academy of Tango will be the advisory institution of the public authorities in all matters concerning the subject matter protected in this regulation.
