Authorize the National Commission to provide a unit of Telecobaltotherapy to the Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Alternative Energies (INEA) of the Republic of Colombia, to be assigned to the National Cancer Institute of that country.

VISTO file No. 152,000-35/96 of the registration of the NATIONAL COMMISSION ON ATOMIC ENERGY, as proposed by that Agency, and

CONSIDERING:

That the NATIONAL COMMISSION ON ATOMICA ENERGY (CNEA) has implemented a programme of assistance to public hospitals to re-equip them with advanced technology telecobaltotherapy units, manufactured in the ARGENTINA REPUBLIC.

That the INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR SCIENCES AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES (INEA) of the COLOMBIA REPUBLIC has requested the donation of UNA (1) unit of Telecobaltotherapy, to be installed in the NATIONAL INSTTTUTO of CANCEROLOGY of that country.

That the collaboration with Colombia ' s brother country with one of those Telecobaltotherapy units will complement the integration of the programme of assistance to public hospitals under the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of the Pacific Uses of Nuclear Energy between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Colombia, held in Bogotá, on 15 September 1967.

That the NATIONAL COMMISSION OF ENERGIA ATOMICA is in a position to deliver UNA (1) Telecobaltotherapy unit Model Teradi 800, as requested by the INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR SCIENCES AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES, as the same is not necessary for the activities of the Commission.

That the supply includes only the provision of the above-mentioned unit, while the transport and installation will be carried out by the International Organization of ATOMICA ENERGY (OIEA).

That such supply amounts to the total value of PESOS SCIENT NUEVE MIL CUATROCIENTS AND CINCO ($ 109.445)

That this measure fits into the powers granted to the NATIONAL EXECUTIVE POWER by article 99, paragraph 1 of the NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION
RIGHT:

Article 1- Authorize the NATIONAL COMMISSION OF ENERGIA INSTITUTE OF NUCLEAR SCIENCES AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES (INEA) of the COLOMBIA REPUBLIC, to be addressed to the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CANCEROLOGY of the said country, in the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of the Peaceful Uses of Colombia.

Art. 2o- NATIONAL COMMISSION OF ENERGIA ATOMICA will be the responsible agency in the country to coordinate and deliver the unit of Telecobaltotherapy.
