Decline on 23, 24 and 25 September 1997 on the death of National Senator Deolindo Felipe Bittel.

VISTO the death of National Senator D. Deolindo Felipe BITTEL on 22 September 1997 and

CONSIDERING:

That the legislator developed intense political activity within the democratic framework, having been elected three times to serve as Governor of the Chaco Province.

He also served as an Intendent of the City of Resistance, a charge for which he was also elected by the vote of his fellow citizens.

It held democratic values and principles even in those periods when the institutional system was not in force, making valuable contributions to the defence of human rights.

That the name provided important and marked services to the country from the functions he had performed, being a duty of the National Government to honour his memory on the occasion of his regrettable disappearance.

That this measure is determined by virtue of the powers conferred by article 99, paragraph 1 of the National Constitution.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1Days of national mourning will be declared on 23. 24-25 September 1997, on the occasion of the death of Mr. Senator D. Deolindo Felipe BITTEL.

Art. 2o-The MINISTERY OF INTERIOR will express to the family of the extinct the condolences of the National Government.

Art. 3o-During the days of national mourning the National Flag will remain half-tied in all public buildings.
