Decree 1143/97

Dispose the closure of the offices of the Commercial Economic Representation in the city of Washington D.C. and liquidate the closing operations. Amend Decree No. 1450/96 to the Ministry of Economy and Public Works and Services.

VISTO Issue No. 080-005392/97 of the record of the MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWS AND PUBLIC SERVICES, and

CONSIDERING:

That by Decree No. 109 of 9 January 1,992 the representation was created for the definition of economic-commercial policy to the competent bodies, in order to carry out advisory and follow-up tasks of economic-commercial policies in the field of MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWS AND PUBLIC SERVICES, and with seat in the city of WASHINGTON D. CMERICA,

That in view of the fact that the above-mentioned functions are currently being exercised both by the SECRETARIAT OF INDUSTRIA, TRADE AND MINERIA of the Ministry, as well as by the respective Economic and Commercial Counseling under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, INTERNATIONAL TRADE And CULTO, the need to keep the offices of the above-mentioned Trade Economic Representation in the United States of AMERICA operational.

That it is necessary to carry out the relevant organizational adjustments, in order to complete the above described.

That the General Directorate of Juridical Questions of the MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWS AND PUBLIC SERVICES has taken the intervention that belongs to it.

The liquidation and closure of the offices of the above-mentioned unit should be provided, for which purpose it is to appoint the person responsible for the discharge of the said liquidation.

That the present measure is determined in the use of the powers conferred by Article 99, paragraph 1 of the NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1- Dispose the closure, from the date of this event, of the offices of the Commercial Economic Representation in the city of WASHINGTON D.C., USA OF AMERICA.

Art. 2°- Liquidation of closing operations for the purposes specified in the previous article to the Dn License. Carlos Alfredo MAGARIÑOS (M.I. No. 16.071.846).

Art. 3°- The liquidation functions mandated by article 2 of this Decree shall be terminated on 31 December 1,997, the date on which they are to be held by the SECRETARIAT OF COORDINATION of the MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWS AND SERVICES PUBLICS the final surrender of the funds allocated to the aforementioned Commercial Economic Representation, as well as the payroll of remaining credits and debts to that date.

Art. 4°- Replace with Decree No. 1450 of 12 December 1996, Annex III a. -Permanent plan - in the part corresponding to the unit minister of the MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWORKS AND PUBLIC SERVICES, by which with equal denomination, is an integral part of this measure.

Art. 5°- Elimine the extra-scale office for the Commercial Economic Representative of the MINISTERY OF ECONOMY AND ARTWORKS AND PUBLIC SERVICES to the relevant agencies, referred to in Decree No. 109 of 9 January 1,992 and its amendments and supplements.

Art. 6°- Please provide the Minister of Economics and Public Works and Services with the necessary measures to comply with the provisions of this act.
