FAMILY ASIGNATIONS

Decree 853/96

Different amounts are provided in relation to the Education Aid received by workers and beneficiaries of the Integrated Pension and Pension System, which are covered by the regime established by Decree No. 770/96, who have children who regularly attend primary schools.

VISTO Decree No. 770 of 15 July 1996, establishing a new legal regime for family assignments, and

CONSIDERING:

That while the Employment and Labour Training Programmes are of a general nature, and are subject in their form of financing to surpluses resulting from the redistribution provided by the regulation, the Education Aid for the Children of Workers with Minor Resources is a benefit that is, by its own nature of an individual nature, of a contributory nature, and of direct perception.

In order to more effectively complete its explicit purpose of aid to lower-income workers, it is pertinent to establish the perception of differentiated amounts that are greater for those who have lower incomes.

The provision of this regulation in the above spirit is consistent with the basic objectives of the modification of the Family Assignment regime set out in the regulation, such as the redistribution of income in favour of the lower-income sectors, and the concretion, at the same time, of adequate demographic and educational policy.

Article 1-Workers and beneficiaries of the INTEGRATED SYSTEM of JUBILATIONS and PENSIONS (SIJP), covered by the family allowance scheme established by Decree No. 770/96, who have children who regularly attend primary schools, will receive a special assistance for children whose amount will be from PESOS CIENTA ($ 160) for those who earn more than 500

Art.2°-The assistance referred to in the previous article will be effective in the month of March of each year or in which the school cycle begins, and will be paid to one of the spouses, not being able to receive simultaneously in relation to more than one employment.
