VISTO is proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and CULTO, and

CONSIDERING:

That United Nations Economic and Social Council resolution 1990/12 of 24 May 1990, recommending the holding of a World Conference on Women, and Resolution 36/8 of the same international body on the "Preparatives for the Fourth World Conference on Women: Action for Equality, Development and Peace," and the recommendations made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Governments to promote national preparations for the event.

That the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women recommends that Governments establish a NATIONAL COORDINATION CENTRE to initiate and promote preparations for the Fourth World Conference on Women; Action for Equality, Development and Peace.

That the subject in question is within the competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, INTERNATIONAL TRADE And CULTO - General Directorate of Human and Women's Rights.

The Centre will be responsible for the organization and coordination of national activities, including the collection of gender-disaggregated information and statistics for the preparation of national reports on the situation of women, and should report regularly to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.

That the functioning of the Centre aludite will not mean the creation of new charges.

That compliance with this Decree shall not incur any expense.

That the powers to issue this Decree are derived from article 86, paragraph 1, of the NATIONAL CONSTITUTION.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1.- Créase un CENTRE NACIONAL DE COORDINATION en el ámbito del MINISTERIO DE RELATIONS EXTERIORES, INTERNATIONAL TRADE And CULTO, with competence to organize and coordinate activities at the national level to initiate and promote preparations for the Fourth United Nations World Conference on Women, to be held in 1995 in the city of Beijing, People ' s Republic of China.

Art. 2°- Address the Director-General for Human Rights and Women of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade

Art. 3. Facultase the president of the Center created by art. 1st of the present to integrate this organism with the members of the Women's Cabinet created by Dto. 84/93, as well as the convening of representatives of various sectors concerned with the problem of Argentine women.
