MINISTERIO DEL INTERIOR DECRETO No. 1,983 Amend the "Regulation of Documents of Identity and Travel of the Federal Police", approved by Decree No. 2.015/66.

VISTO Expediente Letra I number 106-01-000160-85 of the Argentine Federal Police, and

CONSIDERING:

That the above action requests the amendment of articles 11, 16 and 53 of the "Regulation of Documents of Identity and Travel of the Federal Police", approved by Decree No. 2.015/66.

That this rule establishes time limits for passports and travel certificates granted both in the country and by consular authorities of the Republic.

It is desirable to extend these terms, incorporating another mechanic that leads to agility and effectiveness in the diligence and issuance of the aforementioned documentation.

It is also necessary to reconcile aspects that make the rationalization of personnel and materials, as well as those linked to the background of the comparative and other technical legislation of the Argentine Federal Police and other official bodies.

That therefore arises the need to modify the scopes inherent in the term of validity established by Decree No. 2.015/66.

That the present falls within the powers granted by article 86, paragraph 2 of the National Constitution.

Therefore,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1 de Replace Articles 11, 16 and 53 of the "Rule of Identity and Travel Documents of the Federal Police" approved by Decree No. 2.015/66, which will be drafted as follows:

"Article 11. The Argentine Passport has international validity and its validity will be four (4) years in the Republic and five (5) years in renewable foreign countries for equal periods of time, except in cases expressly determined by this regulation.

"Article 16.ículo The Argentine passports granted abroad by the consular authorities of the Argentine Republic will have the same characteristics and a validity of five (5) years renewable abroad for the same period, as many times as necessary and the state of the same will permit.

"Article 53. It will have validity of four (4) years in the Argentine Republic and five (5) years abroad, without any value, if not displayed together with the Identity Cell or the National Identity Document of its holder.

Art. 2o . Default of Decree number 1,542/79.

Art. 3o . Communicate, publish, give to the National Directorate of the Official Register and archvese.
