Standards regulating the transport of firearms.

In spite of the favourable developments in the internal framework, it is appropriate to maintain certain restrictive measures that help to facilitate the control of the movements of certain material according to their characteristics and use.
That such circumstances make it necessary to update the restrictive measures on the transport of weapons for the expiry of Decree No. 948/78.
THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION
Article 1 -- Individual transport of firearms provided for in Decree No. 395/75 shall be carried out in accordance with its provisions and the limitations set out in this Decree.
Art. 2o -- End of transport. The transport of firearms, authorized by the present decree, includes those for the execution of sporting shooting and sports hunting (major or minor).
Art. 3o -- The transport of repeat, semi-automatic and automatic 12- and 16-calibre shotguns and their main parts are prohibited, with the exception of locks with charger or storage of up to 2 (two) cartridges.
Art. 4o -- Amount of weapons. In no case can more than 2 (two) weapons be transported per person, or more than 5 (five) per vehicle.
Art. 5o -- Exceptions. They are exempt from the prohibition of the preceding articles:
(a) Members of the Armed, Security, Police and Prison Forces, in activity or withdrawal.
(b) The security and surveillance personnel of public and private institutions, official and private banks, of the transport of flows or values or non-bank financial entities, authorized by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic, authorized by the National Register of Arms, on the occasion of the performance of its functions.
(c) The staff of security companies and individuals authorized by Act No. 21,265, on the occasion of their performance.
(d) Members of accredited diplomatic missions in the country, consular agents and military missions.
(e) Surveillance and security personnel for persons provided for in the preceding paragraph, authorized by the National Arms Register and at the time of their performance.
Art. 6th -- Compliance with other standards. The enforcement of the precautions set out in this decree does not exempt from the obligations that may contain the local regulatory regimes of sports and film-making activities.
Art. 7o - Penalties. Offences to the provisions of this decree shall be punished as prescribed by article 36 and in accordance with Act No. 20.429. The local control authority shall instruct the corresponding summary proceedings and shall proceed to the preventive abduction of the material, granting receipt to the accused.
Art. 8o -- This decree shall enter into force on the day of its publication and shall govern until 31 December 1979.
