ECONOMY Decree No. 66/1975 The use of liquefied petroleum gas as fuel for motor vehicles is prohibited. Bs. As. 10/1/75
VISTO that the use of liquefied petroleum gas to replace nafta is encouraged by various means of advertising for the drive of motors and the need to promote the national use of fuels, and
CONSIDERING:
That while the gas liquefied by its technical characteristics is suitable for the purpose indicated, such a procedure is continued to use energy from perishable sources that are of interest to preserve.
That such substitution could be motivated by the difference in prices between the aforementioned fuels.
That the use of liquefied gas in motors would affect the availability of specific priority purposes as domestic fuel and as petrochemical raw material.
That the prices for the sale of the product have been set according essentially to the precited destinations.
That the country is deficient in liquefied gas and its import to meet the normal demand of the market requires a significant amount of foreign exchange that would obviously increase to spread the adaptation of vehicles to operate with this fuel.
That there is sufficient local capacity to produce nafta to deal with the usual consumptions, in favourable economic conditions with respect to liquefied gas.
Consequently, in the present circumstances, it is not appropriate to use liquefied gas as a carbide in motor vehicles.
Therefore,
THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION
RIGHT:
Article 1 - Prevent the use of liquefied petroleum gas as fuel for the drive of motor vehicles.
Art. 2o - The Ministry of Economy shall take the measures leading to the implementation of article 1 of this decree.
Art. 3o - Contact, post, give to the National Directorate of the Official Register and archvese.
