INTERNATIONAL CONVENTIONS

A convention is ratified.

VISTO Expediente No. 263.204.74 of the Ministry of State of Energy through which Gas of the State requests the approval of the agreement signed with the National Petroleum Company (ENAP) of the Republic of Chile, to fraction liquefied gas mixture produced in the Argentine deposits of El Cóndor and Cerro Redondo in the plant of Cabo Negro of the neighboring country; and

CONSIDERING:

That in accordance with Article 12 (i) - paragraph 2, of the Organic Statute of Gas of the State, contracts for the location of services entered into with public entities of the outside must be previously authorized by the Executive or, failing that, expressly ratified;

That the contract submitted to ratification is of economic importance to both countries, since in the case of ours it will lead to avoid imports of liquefied gas in quantities of a certain entity, whose values are growing day by day, and in the case of Chile it will allow to use the idle capacity of existing facilities;

On the other hand, it is fundamentally politically important, as an explicit demonstration of the fruitful field that regional complementarity offers to Latin American countries and leads to the goal of consolidating and increasing traditional ties of union with neighbouring countries of the Republic;

For this reason and attentive to the proposal of the Minister of Economy,

THE PRESIDENT OF THE ARGENTINA NATION

RIGHT:

Article 1 - Ratify the agreement signed between Gas del Estado and the National Petroleum Company (ENAP) of the Republic of Chile on 18 January 1974, the authenticated copy of which is dated 4 to 11 from file No. 263.204/74.

Art. 2o - This decree will be endorsed by the Ministers of Economy and Foreign Affairs and Worship.
