GREAT AND OLEAGINOS DECRETO No. 1.216 Trigo. Required minimum prices for the harvest 1972/73

Bs. As., 3/3/72.

VISTO that Decree No. 4011 of 20 September 1971 determines that the support prices for the different grains will be established during the month of March of each year, and

CONSIDERING:

That such provision tends to guide the planning of the planting of the producers;

That, for various reasons, insufficient availability of wheat has been observed in the last harvest to meet domestic demand and the country ' s commitments and export possibilities;

That the latter circumstance requires action to increase production as a means of strengthening foreign trade;

That in the particular case of wheat, its production has recorded lower yields per hectare;

That in order to give greater economic support to some regions of the country, it is relevant to establish for them a higher price than that of the typical cereal zone;

Moreover, in view of the particular characteristics of the production and demand of wheat for noodles, it is appropriate to set a price higher than that of bread wheat;

Pursuant to article 9 (t) of the Decree-Law No. 6698 of 9 August 1963, the National Grain Board is the Agency established for the defence of agricultural production and to intervene in the commercialization of grains whenever the executive branch so provides.
