VISTO AND CONSIDERING:

That the functions assigned by section 16 of Act No. 17.271 to the Secretariat of State for the Promotion and Assistance of the Community are provided (paragraph 5) for the promotion, integration and assistance of Aboriginal groups;

That in the merits that this objective falls within the programmes for the organization and development of communities to be carried out by the aforementioned State Secretariat, it is appropriate to arrange for the transfer to its jurisdiction of the National Directorate of Indigenous Affairs, which currently depends on the Ministry of the Interior (Secretariat of State of Government);

That, in addition, pending the effective transfer of the budget items for the agency concerned and with the aim of obviating disadvantages in the continuity of its specific functions, it is appropriate to determine that the emerging costs of the care of that service will continue to be met with the respective authorizations in force;

Therefore,

The President of the Argentine Nation Decreta: Article 1 de Transfer to the jurisdiction of the State Secretariat for the Promotion and Assistance of the Community, the National Directorate for Indigenous Affairs with its personnel and assets affected to that unit. Art. 2o o The budgetary changes that should be necessary to complete the transfer provided by the previous article will be available. Until such time as this measure is implemented, the costs associated with the attention of that service will be met with the credit authorizations in force. Art. 3o o This decree will be endorsed by the Ministers of Social Welfare, Interior and Economics and Labour and signed by the Secretaries of State for the Promotion and Assistance of the Community, Government and Finance.
