CREASE THE COORDINARY COMMISSION OF RIO TURBIO

Buenos Aires, October 23, 1957.

VISTO, the Commission ' s report, which, by its trade, P.P. No. 24 was designated to carry out a comprehensive study of the economic unit that constitutes the deposit of coal from Río Turbio and,

CONSIDERING:

That the findings of the above-mentioned study are final in terms of the magnitude of the fuel reserves of the aforementioned deposit;

That the use of coal in usins, various industries and railroads will mean a significant savings currency;

That supplementary works, as set out in the above-mentioned study, should be carried out for the rational exploitation of the deposit;

That the speed with which such work is carried out depends on the time-frame in which adequate operating performance and reasonable fuel cost prices will be achieved; that in order to coordinate the responsibilities of several Ministries in the tasks leading to the above-mentioned purposes, it is appropriate to create a Commission whose members should expedite the relevant procedures, within the agencies to which they belong, while maintaining the overall vision of the problems that arise;

Therefore,

The Interim President of the Argentine Nation,

Decrete:

Article 1 - Créase la Comisión Coordinadora de Obras de Río Turbio, que será presidida por el Undersecretary de Minería e composed por un representante de cada uno de los Ministerios de Marina, Hacienda, Obras Públicas, Transportes y Comercio e Industria de la Nación, y uno de Combustibles Solidos.

Art. 2° - Your functions will be:

(a) Determine the order of preference with which the works should be addressed, formulating a concrete plan of realizations.

(b) Propose to the Executive the appropriate measures to achieve compliance with that plan.

(c) Coordinate the action of the various ministries to ensure that studies, projects, works and acquisitions are carried out within the time frames provided for in the above-mentioned plan.

(d) Promote the consumption of coal from national production, according to the increase in the exploitation of deposits.

(e) To advise on any draft decree, resolution or agreement that by its provisions may affect the realization of works in the Rio Turbio site and the transport and consumption of its production.

Art. 3rd - The different Ministries, National Interventions, Domestic Distributions and State Enterprises will provide the collaboration that the Coordinating Commission of Works of Río Turbio requires.

Art. 4° - This decree will be endorsed by the Ministers Secretary of State in the Departments of Commerce and Industry, Marina, Finance, Public Works and Transport of the Nation.

Art. 5° - Contact, publish, give to the General Directorate of the Official Gazette and archvese.
