CONVENTION ON ADOPTION OF WATERS OF THE PILCOMAYO RIO.

BUENOS AIRES, October 17, 1944

ARTICLE 1. - The approval of the Executive Branch on 27 February 1941, of the Agreement on Water Development of the Pilcomayo River, signed between the Republics of Argentina, Bolivia and Paraguay on 10 February 1941.

ARTICLE 2. - This decree will be endorsed by the Ministers Secretaries in the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Navy, War, Public Works and Interior.

Annex A- Agreement on the use of the waters of the river Pilcomayo, signed between the Argentine Republic, Bolivia and Paraguay on February 10, 1941-

ARTICLE 1. The governments of the Argentine, Bolivia and Paraguay Republics shall designate an International Commission that shall consist of one member for each of the high Contracting Parties, to study and draft an agreement in which the aspects relating to the Pilcomayo River are contemplated, which shall submit to the governments of the three States.

ARTICLE 2. The commission shall propose the conduct of such studies as may be necessary and shall make the approximate calculation of the costs to be required for that purpose.

ARTICLE 3. - The commission may request from the Governments of the three States the data it deems necessary and is in conformity with the mission entrusted to it.

ARTICLE 4. Delegates forming the commission may be accompanied by advisers who will have a voice and no vote in the deliberations and resolutions of the commission.

ARTICLE 5. - The commission will be based in Buenos Aires and the Argentine government will provide you with the necessary means to enable you to carry out your duties.

ARTICLE 6. In faith of which the plenipotentiaries named above sign by triplicate the present agreement in Buenos Aires, at the ten days of the month of February of the year thousand nine hundred forty and one.
