ARTICLE 1 Article 1 of Act No. 23,774, amending article 21 of Decree-Law No. 1285/58, as amended by Act No. 16,895. ARTICLE 2 Incorporate as article 21 of Decree-Law No. 1285/58, text according to Law No. 16,895 the following:"Article 21. The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation shall be composed of CINCO (5) judges. Before it, the Procurator-General of the Nation and the Prosecutors shall act before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and the Official Defenders before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation in the terms of Law No. 24,946 and other complementary legislation."
Article 3 , Transitional Provision: The reduction of the members of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, as provided for in the previous article, shall operate as follows:Since the entry into force of this Act, the number of judges who are members of the Act will be temporarily reduced to SIETE (7). From this reduction, the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation shall be taken by the majority vote of CUATRO (4) of its members.
Later on, the number of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation will be temporarily reduced to SEIS (6). In that period the decisions of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation shall be taken by the majority vote of CUATRO (4) of its members.
A new final vacancy will be reduced to CINCO (5) the number of judges who make it. Decisions shall be taken by the vote of the absolute majority of its members.
