EDUCATION Law 25.584 Prohibits any institutional action in public education establishments that prevents the initiation or continuity of the school cycle of pregnant women.

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:

ARTICLE 1 The executives or persons responsible for official and private public education establishments throughout the country, at all levels of the system and of any modality, are prohibited from adopting institutional actions that prevent or disrupt the normal initiation or continuation of their studies to students in a state of gravitation or during the breastfeeding period and to students in their capacity as parents. The educational authorities of the respective establishment shall be obliged, in respect of the pregnant student, to authorize the permits which, because of their state are necessary to guarantee both their physical and mental health and that of the being during their pregnancy and the corresponding period of breastfeeding. (Article replaced by Article 1 of the Act No. 25.808 B.O. 28/11/2003) ARTICLE 2 The Ministry of Education undertakes, with the corresponding jurisdictional educational authority, to make public any irregular practice referred to in article 1, giving the appropriate administrative or judicial course.
