PROTOCOLS Law 25.318 Approve the Additional Protocol to the Migration Convention signed with the Republic of Bolivia.

Enacted: October 6, 2000

The Senate and Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation assembled in Congress, etc. sanction with force of Law:

ARTICLE 1 Appropriate the provisional protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the DE BOLIVIA, signed in Buenos Aires on 16 December 1999, consisting of DOS (2) articles and whose authenticated photocopy is part of this law.

ARTICLE 2 Contact the national executive branch.

MIGRATION CONVENTION

ENTRE

THE ARGENTINA REPUBLIC

And

THE REPUBLIC OF BOLIVIA

The Government of the Argentine Republic and the Government of the Republic of Bolivia, henceforth the Parties;

In order to extend the deadline for the regularization of migrants of their nationals, established in article 2 (b) of the Convention on Migration between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Bolivia of 16 February 1998, henceforth the "Convention";

Agree to the following:

ARTICLE 1

Protract for 180 days the deadline set out in article 2 (b) of the Convention on Migration between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Bolivia, for nationals of one Party, who were in an irregular migration situation in the territory of the other at the time of entry into force of the Convention, to submit their request for the regularization of migration and documentation established in article 4 of the Convention, to the corresponding migration service, with the purpose of developing formal activities in relation to dependence or autonomous activities.

ARTICLE 2

The deadline set out in Article 1 shall commence from the date of entry into force of this Protocol.

This Protocol shall be ratified and shall enter into force on the date on which the respective instruments of ratification are exchanged.

This Protocol will be an integral part of the "Convention".

Made in Buenos Aires, on 16 December 1999, in two originals, both equally authentic.
