CGL20160714_11_36_45 law 8/2016, from June 28th, definitive revocation of the University of the Valley (UdV) Law 8/2016, from June 28th, definitive revocation of the University of the Valley (UdV) since the General Council in its session of 28 June 2016 has approved the following: law 8/2016, from June 28th , a definitive revocation of the University of the Valley (UdV) preamble on 30 October 2008 the General Council approved the law 23/2008 of permission of creation of the University of the Valley.
The University of the Valley, as a private University was established as a private foundation of public interest, and consisted of a single University centre specialising in Dental Sciences.
The Government agreed to the commencement of academic activities on October 12, 2010, after having checked that will meet the requirements of the current regulations, as well as the commitments acquired by the sponsoring entity in the report that accompanied the request for the creation of the University of the Valley.
The Government created the master's degree in odontology by the Decree of February 25, 2009, of establishment of the master in dentistry. The University of the Valley presented a plan of a master's degree in dentistry that are adapted to the provisions set out in the Decree of creation of title and the Government agreed to the official status of this syllabus on 1 February 2012.
The Government in accordance with the provisions of law 12/2008 and 23/2008, found that the curriculum did not fulfill the requirements set forth in the Decree of creation of the title nor the European quality standards that govern the European space of higher education (EEES), revoked the recognition of curriculum corresponding to the master's degree in dentistry from the University of the Valley on 12 August 2015.
In August 2015, the Government did not consider it appropriate to propose the revocation of the University of the Valley as it as a private higher education institution could establish new formations and collaborations that respectessin the principles that governed its creation.
During the academic year 2015-2016, the University of the Valley has not provided any information to consider that will meet or what will be fulfilled the commitments undertaken at the time of its creation.
Accordingly, this unique article definitely revoke the Law University of the valleys. In their repealing derogates the law 23/2008 of 30 October, on the authorization of the creation of the University of the Valley as well as any rule of rank less than or equal to contradict this law. The final provision fixes the entry into force of the law.
The only article this law aims to the revocation of the authorization of the creation of the University of the Valley that was created by law 23/2008 of 30 October.
Repealing provision Is repealed the law 23/2008 of 30 October, on the authorization of the creation of the University of the Valley.
Final provision this law shall enter into force the day after being published in the official bulletin of the Principality of Andorra.
