DECREE

Amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 152/2013/ND-CP of November 4, 2013, on management of motor vehicles brought into Vietnam by foreign tourists

Pursuant to the December 25, 2001 Law on Organization of the Government;

Pursuant to the November 13, 2008 Law on Road Traffic;

Pursuant to the June 14, 2005 Law on Tourism;

Pursuant to the November 29, 2005 Law on Enterprises;

At the proposal of the Minister of Transport,

The Government promulgates the Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 152/2013/ND-CP of November 4, 2013, on management of motor vehicles brought into Vietnam by foreign tourists.

Article 1. To amend and supplement a number of articles of the Government’s Decree No. 152/2013/ND-CP of November 4, 2013, on management of motor vehicles brought into Vietnam by foreign tourists

1. To amend and supplement Point a, Clause 3, Article 3 as follows:

“a/ Being a left-hand drive passenger car with 9 seats or fewer, left-hand drive camper van or motorcycle;”

2. To amend Clause 2, Article 4 as follows:

“2. Within 3 working days after receiving a complete and valid dossier prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article, the Ministry of Transport shall grant a written approval for foreign motor vehicles to operate on road in Vietnam. This written approval shall be sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Finance, the High Command of the Border Guard, and People’s Committees of related provinces and centrally run cities for coordinated management. In case of disapproval, the Ministry of Transport shall issue a written reply clearly stating the reason within 3 working days.”

Article 2. Effect and implementation responsibilities

1. This Decree takes effect on August 1, 2015.

2. Ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, heads of government-attached agencies and chairpersons of provincial-level People’s Committees shall implement this Decree.
