CIRCULAR No.4/1998/TT-BYT of March 23, 1998 guiding the management over the foodstuff safety and hygiene in foodstuff trading, service and catering.

With a view to taking the initiative in the prevention and fight against alimentary epidemics and foodstuff poisoning, based on "the Regulation on Hygiene" (issued together with Decree No.23-HDBT of January 24, 1991 of the Council of Ministers) and "the State management responsibilities for the quality of goods" (issued together with Circular No.86-CP of December 8, 1995 of the Government), the Ministry of Health issued this Circular to specify the hygiene requirements that must be met by establishments trading in cooked foodstuffs and instant foods, establishments engaged in food services and catering and their attendants; the hygienic standards in foodstuff processing and preservation; and the regulations on report on and investigation of food poisoning cases.- (Summary)
