DECISION No.106/QD-TTg of June 9, 1998 on organizing the general census and dwelling house survey

To organize a general census and dwelling house survey which shall commence at zero hour of April 1st, 1999, to collect data on population and dwelling houses on the entire Vietnamese territory in service of the research and analysis of the population and housing development process throughout the country as well as in each locality, thus meeting the demand for information to draw up the 2000-2010 socio-economic development plan.

The contents of the census and survey shall include: population divided according to genders, ages, nationalities, religions, urban or rural areas; the migration extent and trend; educational and professional levels; labor and employment; marital status; birth and death rates as well as population growth; the status of dwelling houses with facilities and appliances therein.- (Summary)
