DECISION No. 29/1999/QD-BNN-BVTV OF FEBRUARY 4, 1999 PROMULGATING LISTS OF PESTICIDES PERMITTED TO BE USED OR RESTRICTED AND BANNED FROM BEING USED IN VIETNAM
THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
Pursuant to Decree No. 73/CP of November 1
st, 1995 of the Government defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development;Pursuant to Article 26 of the Ordinance on Plant Protection and Quarantine promulgated on February 15, 1993;
Pursuant to the Regulation on Pesticides Management issued together with Decree No. 92/CP of November 27, 1993 of the Government guiding the implementation of the Ordinance on Plant Protection and Quarantine;
At the proposal of the heads of the Plant Protection Department and Department for Sciences, Technologies and Product Quality,
DECIDES:
Article 1.- To promulgate together with this Decision:
1. The list of pesticides permitted to be used in Vietnam (attached herewith), including:
1.1. Pesticides used in agriculture:
1.1.1. Insecticides: 87 active ingredients under 270 trade names,
1.1.2. Fungicides: 69 active ingredients under 216 trade names,
1.1.3. Herbicides: 57 active ingredients under 160 trade names,
1.1.4. Rodenticides: 08 active ingredients under 11 trade names,
1.1.5. Plant growth stimulants: 17 active ingredients under 26 trade names,
1.1.6. Insect attractants: 01 active ingredient under 02 trade names,
1.1.7. Mollusticides: 01 active ingredient under 02 trade names.
1.2. Termeticides: 02 active ingredients under 02 trade names
1.3. Wood treatments: 04 active ingredients under 05 trade names
1.4. Fumigants: 03 active ingredients under 03 trade names
2. The list of pesticides restricted from being used in Vietnam (attached herewith), including:
2.1. Pesticides use in agriculture:
2.1.1. Insecticides: 06 active ingredients under 08 trade names
2.1.2. Fungicides: 01 active ingredient under 01 trade name
2.1.3. Herbicides: 01 active ingredient under 01 trade name
2.1.4. Rodenticides: 01 active ingredient under 03 trade names
2.2. Wood treatments: 11 active ingredients under 11 trade names
2.3. Termeticides: 03 active ingredients under 03 trade names
2.4. Fumigants: 03 active ingredients under 09 trade names
3. The list of pesticides banned from being used in agriculture in Vietnam (attached herewith), including:
Insecticides: 18 active ingredients,
Fungicides: 06 active ingredients,
Rodenticides: 01 active ingredient,
Herbicides: 01 active ingredient.
Article 2.- This Decision takes effect 15 days after its signing. The earlier decisions contrary to this Decision are all now annulled.
Article 3.- The Plant Protection Department shall have to prescribe the use of pesticides which are restricted from being used in Vietnam.
Article 4.- The Ministry Office�s director, the director of the Plant Protection Department, the director of the Department for Sciences, Technologies and Product Quality, the heads of the units attached to the Ministry and domestic organizations and individuals as well as foreigners that manage, produce, trade in and use pesticides in Vietnam shall have to implement this Decision.
