Decree No. 37/2000/ND-CP of August 21, 2000 on changing names of commune and township; establishing new commune under Mang Yang district, Gia Lai province; and dividing Mang Yang district into Dak Doa and Mang Yang districts
To rename Dak Doa commune of Mang Yang district as Dak Somei commune.
To rename Mang Yang township of Mang Yang district as Dak Doa township.
To establish Dak Djrang commune on the basis of a land area of 1,564 ha and a population of 1,083 of Kdang commune; a land area of 3,158.7 ha and a population of 1,824 of Dak Ya commune.
To divide Mang Yang district into Dak Doa and Mang Yang districts:
- Dak Doa district shall have a land area of 98,041.3 ha and a population of 74,394, comprising 15 dependent administrative units: Ha Dong, Dak Somei, Ha Bau, Nam Yang, Kon Gang, Hai Yang, Hneng, Tan Binh, KDang, Glar, Trang, A Dok, Ia Pet, Ia Bang communes and Dak Doa district capital.
- The new Mang Yang district shall have a land area of 112,606.7 ha and a population of 36,746 comprising 10 dependent administrative units: Ayun, Dak Ya, Hra, Lo Pang, Kon Thup, De Ar, Dak Troi, Kon Chieng, Dak Djrang communes and Kon Dong district capital.- (Summary)
