Can Tho Medical-Pharmaceutical University is set up on the basis of the Medicine-Odontology-Pharmacy Faculty of Can Tho University.

It is attached to the Ministry of Health, has legal person status, its own seal and accounts. Its office is headquartered in Can Tho city.

It functions to train specialized and general health workers of university degree, conduct scientific research in service of the care and protection of people�s health as well as socio-economic development in the Mekong river delta provinces.- (Summary)
