SECTION 23-33-5



   § 23-33-5  Permit to act as authorized

inspector. –

The chief inspector may issue a permit to act as an authorized inspector to any

person employed by: (1) an insurance company authorized to insure elevators in

this state; or (2) any person, firm, or corporation engaged in the business of

inspecting elevators in this state who holds a certificate of competency,

having passed a written examination approved by the chief, or in lieu of such

an examination, who holds a certificate of competency as an inspector of

elevators from a state that has a standard of examination equal to that of this

state. A permit to act as an authorized inspector shall empower the authorized

inspector to make inspections.
