      NECESSITY, FUNCTION, AND CONFORMITY: KRS

150.025 authorizes the department to regulate fish and wildlife resources. This

administrative regulation enables the department to take necessary actions to

protect the public and wildlife resources when emergency conditions exist that

may detrimentally impact the wildlife population.

 

      Section 1. When biological or

environmental conditions exist that may detrimentally impact wildlife, the

commissioner may work with any agency or organization and take any and all

actions necessary to warn the public or lessen the impact of such detrimental

conditions, including the following:

      (1) Notifying the public of the

conditions;

      (2) Restricting the importation or

propagation of wildlife; or

      (3) Altering any season for taking of

wildlife including dates, bag or creel limits, or any other taking restriction
